Sylvia Whitlock, The Woman Who Changed Rotary
Served as the first woman club president, following federal lawsuit requiring female membership in Rotary and many other organizations.
Dr. Sylvia Whitlock helped establish an AIDS clinic in Jamaica, supported an orphanage in Mexico and sank wells in Nigeria. She will speak of her love of The Rotary Foundation including her participation in Rotary’s polio eradication efforts through volunteering on National Immunization Days and supporting Rotary grants around the world. PACE is committed to ending trafficking and uplifting communities through the education of girls and women living in extreme poverty. Today she serves as an honorary board member of PACE Universal and leads teacher trainings in Piyali.
